Chapel of Agios Georgios

The chapel of Agios Georgios is built among the houses of the village. It is a small and plain chapel. It used to be a girls’ school till 1950. The school moved to another building and at that time the old church of the village was demolished, thus all the ecclesiastic equipment was transferred in the chapel of Agios Georgios which was empty. The icon which is dedicated to the saint, was made in the 19th century and it is placed on a special iconostasis.

The chapel celebrates mass twice a year: on Easter Monday and on 23rd April.

There are two reports for this chapel. The first one was in 1785 and the second one in 1806. Both reports were related with examinations made by ecclesiastic councils concerning the economic status of the church.
